The Yacht Club: a Turkish Retreat

Nestled in Altinkum, Turkey, is a quiet and relaxing retreat. The Turkish Yacht Club is a hotel on the harbour, with views of luxury yachts and a sweeping ocean.

For those who can’t afford a yacht, you don’t have to feel intimidated. I don’t own a yacht and they let me in! The resort opens to the public with a small fee, about £10 in British money, at least when I went. Inside, you can spend the day at the pool, relaxing on comfortable sun beds, absorbing the sun.

Lunch at the Yacht club is fantastic. There is a good selection on the menu, but I always settle for the chicken wrap when I’m at the club, with spicy chips. It’s really a great meal to have poolside.

The views from the pool are great. With luscious greenery, you can stand and look out at the docked yacht’s that sit harbour side. I later caught a boat from here, to explore the wider waters.

Finally, spend the rest of your day relaxing at the pool, or going for a dip. The place is usually quite, so you should have no problem relaxing.

I’ve never stayed at the hotel, but I hear it’s a really nice place to stay. With balconies offering views over both the pool and the docked yachts, this is a great place to spend your time.
